A. A pillar inscription (Tam Lipi) |
A king, using the adopted name of Abha Salamewan, making either a gift or for some other purpose, had an inscription done on Bhrama script with the picture of a crow. It¡¯s now in two pieces. In the earliest era of Sri Lanka, the picture of the crow inscribed indicated that it was an offering (pooja) or a gift in a secret place.

| B. Merit recodes on all are leaves |
This remains an important document even today, its 3¡¯ 8¡¯¡¯ in lengths. It remains in the possession of the Viharaya. Its contents may briefly be noted as the constructional side of the various aspects of the viharaya, the Kinihirikanda viharaya lineage.
The offering (Pooja) of villagers, such as Nelliyagama to the Viharaya, the limits of the lands of the viharaya, the restoration of the cave Viharaya, the description of the statues and paintings, the emulatior to artists, and the ¡° Nethra Prathishtapana pinkama,¡± has been written by the Bhikku Nigrodha of Kekirawa, incumbent during the Kandy era. |  |

C. The Bodhi |
According to Bhikku Negrodha Thero¡¯s merit record, it is very clear that it was obtained from the fruit of the sacred border Maha Mevuna Uyana at Anuradhapura. There are various popular beliefs and other miraculous events regarding the Bodhi.
This is fortified by the fact that the bodhi tree, amidst the offering and the worship surrounding it, stands even today at the same height and girth as it stood 80 years ago. |
